NGY48 is an online vocal cover group dedicated to the AKB48 Group and the Sakamichi Series.
The Group was created in 2016 and officially debuted in 2018 with the release of Sekai wa Doko Made Aozora na no ka?.
New members are added once a year through auditions.

January 28, 2018 - NGY48 sub-unit
The first NGY48 sub-unit has been finally anounced. The group's name is Sukashiyuri, inspired by a Japanese type of lily. A lily was chosen as it is the representative flower of Nagoya. This is the reason why, the groups concept is "songs with flower themes". Members are Ashikawa Akiko, Kashima Rika, Amami Emi, Yamamoto Sadako, Ichikawa Tsukino, Suzuki Aiko and Kawamoto Chiyo. The group is set to debut in August 2018.
January 01, 2018 - New year changes
- The members Ichikawa Tsukino, Nakamura Tomoyo and Shaga Misa will be transferred to Ruby NGY48. Their first single as full members of the team will be Otona Ressha.
- The group's official color has been changed to light sky blue. The color will be changed every year.
- 8 new members will join the group as Generation 1.5. They will be introduced on facebook one by one in January. They will act as Kenkyuusei bound to teams. During the upcoming team shuffle in summer, they are to become full members of the teams.
November 18, 2017 - NGY48 Debut and revamp
After Tasaina Projects disbandment, NGY48, which was set to debut in the beginning of 2017 under Tasaina Project, will now officially debut late 2017 or early 2018. Original plans for songs were scrapped and the new debut song is Sekai wa Doko Made Aozora na no ka?. It has also been decided that rather than having teams, the group will be split in Ruby NGY48, the "main" girls, and Sapphire NGY48, the "under" girls, which will make the senbatsu smaller by half.
